Kuwait City, Kuwait – 12 December, 2010- ‘The en.v Initiative’, a leading organization dedicated to social responsibility in the Arab World, and a subsidiary of El Boutique Creative Group and Dow Chemical in Kuwait today announced the signing of a partnership agreement to support environmental programs in Kuwait.
Markus Wildi, Vice President of Corporate Development in Kuwait, President of Dow Middle East and Zahed Sultan, CEO and Managing Partner of The en.v Initiative; signed the one-year partnership agreement at en.v’s headquarters in Kuwait City.
As a part of this partnership, Dow committed to support en.v’s non-profit marine conservation program, which is mandated with preserving and protecting Kuwait’s marine environment, starting with three Kuwaiti islands: Khubbar, Quaroh and Umm Al Maradim. The program will be called ‘Dow’s Marine Conservation Program’ and will include activities ranging from the development of centralized and public use waste facilities, periodic diving and waste collection exercises, reef restoration and regeneration, and public awareness campaigning.
The partnership with en.v will also include Dow’s Title Sponsorship of REUSE 4.0, a leading sustainability and recycling platform in Kuwait, where community members come together to interact and recreate innovative solutions to promote sustainable living. REUSE 4.0 provides a platform for leading public and private organizations, schools and universities, and community members to join hands to encourage responsible behaviors and provide opportunities to make a difference in the community. REUSE 4.0 will also invite local and amateur designers to showcase their talents in innovative product design, art, fashion, photography, film, and more produced entirely from scrap and recycled materials.
